LEGO Star Wars (1999-) is a licensed theme based on characters, settings and stories from George Lucas’ fictional Star Wars universe. It was one of the LEGO Group’s first licensed themes and remains one of its most critically and commercially successful franchises. Check out reviews, sets, and more about the story.
If you’ve played Force Unleashed I or II you would be familiar with the ill-fated Galen Marek. Marek aka Starkiller was Darth Vader’s secret apprentice during the Galactic Era and part of Vader’s grand-plan to overthrow Darth Sidious by instigating a rebellion against the Empire.
Marek is a somewhat rare minifigure having appeared in only one set, Rogue Shadow 7672, alongside a battle-damaged Darth Vader and imperial officer, Juno Eclipse. His design is also quite unique, being one of only several minifigures that depict blood (something not usually seen in family-friendly toys and media).
This figure comes with a Sith-standard red lightsaber, basic black hairpiece and black legs. Interesting details include the black and chrome damaged flight suit and black and rounded belt. The blood-stained bandages and missing sleeve were the result of a battle with Darth Vader and are pretty awesome. Unsurprisingly, given his release date (2008), the back is unprinted and the face is a fairly simple.
As with his counterpart, Battle Damaged Darth Vader, Marek’s design is a little darker than the usual LEGO fare and this lends him a certain uniqueness which I think is pretty cool.
Whilst he is a little tricky to come by on the used market, you can still pick Galen Marek up in the Rogue Shadow set on Amazon, albeit for a hefty premium!
